Selection criteria

The Alice Salomon University of Applied Sciences welcomes students from all countries. Students are selected without regard to sex, ethnicity, religion, or national origin. All applications for admission to the Master program are evaluated by the Admissions Committee.

The Admission Committee uses the following criteria in its evaluation process:

  • Applicant's academic qualifications.
  • Applicant's work experience: Candidates who have a minimum of one year of work experience in a related field will be given preference for admission. However, the nature, scope, length, breadth, variety and significance of the work experience will also be taken into account in the preference ranking of candidates.
  • If necessary, the Admissions Committee will contact referees such as employers and university instructors for evidence of each applicant's maturity, seriousness of intent, perseverance, academic and professional preparedness, and the ability to adapt to a new environment.
  • Applicant's statements within the motivation letter.
  • Applicant's ability to meet financial requirements.

Admissions decisions are made on a rolling basis; as soon as an applicant's file is completed, it is anticipated that a decision is made within six weeks, and the applicant notified.
